“Workers of the world unite; you have nothing to lose but your chains” – Karl Marx
Karl Marx must be twisting in his grave these days (perhaps from the heat). The 2012 election has taken us to an interesting place.
Marx hated capitalism. He saw it as an abusive system in which the aristocracy held an unfair advantage over the workers, and used that advantage to drain the workers of their labor and production. Or, to put it in his words: “Capital is dead labor, which, vampire-like, lives only by sucking living labor, and lives the more, the more labor it sucks.”
Now, Marx and I disagree on the nature of capital, but it is interesting to note his concern here. The workers are making all the stuff, but the folks who showed up with the capital necessary to build the factory got all the profits.
How confusing the modern liberal must be to the communist mind. A movement that once sought to eliminate private property and bring down the bourgeois elites now finds itself in the throws of a completely different “coalition” for change. No longer is it “workers unite” – but “non-workers and aristocracy unite” … strange.
It is the liberal ideology that pushes fiat currency, used by the banking class to profit from the labors of others and extract the production of the workers (… like a vampire). And how can that banking class maintain control in a democracy? By yoking the voting power of the non-workers. And when the banking elites and the non-workers unite, who pray-tell are they uniting against? Well, the only people left producing anything to feed the stomachs of those who demand it is … the workers!!!
Marx also said “democracy is the road to socialism” … apparently not. Apparently democracy is the road to aristocracy. Sorry Karl.
