Every now and then when American politics or the injustice of the system get a bit frustrating, I find it useful to remind myself that it could always be worse. Stories are coming out this month about renewed persecution in the Sudan, where the Islamic government of the north is ramping up attacks against Christians.
The North Korean government has apparently spent the entire budget for this year to install a few surveillance cameras and some more barbed wire near the border with China to stop defections. Seriously, guys – your country sucks so bad that people are willing to flee to the safety of … China?
Across the fallen world oppression continues. I’m very thankful to be raising my kids in a country of freedom (despite the assaults against it) and prosperity (despite the assaults against it).
